For anyone who picks up the newspaper or talks with their neighbor over the fence, there's a topic of increasing concern in our community - crime is on the rise in Flathead County. According to the Flathead County Sheriff's office, call volume has spiked by 20% since 2018 and with that, a higher percentage are more violent or drug-related crimes.
That's why I'm sitting down to talk with Sheriff Brian Heino who will provide more insight into local crime, mental health, and what can be done both as individuals and through state-level legislation to help keep Kalispell a safe place we can all be proud to call home.
